This shampoo, the matching conditioner, spray and wipes are the only things you need for a shiny, healthy coat and skin. We've used it for years on our Armenian Gampr. It definitely helps loosen the fur that's ready to shed. You will need to brush from root to tip both before and after. Make sure your dog is completely dry before the end brushing. It will loosen all the fur that's ready to drop making it easy to remove with brushing and hand stripping depending on your dog's coat needs. This stuff doesn't stop shedding, don't expect that it's not what it's for and quite frankly stopping shedding of a coat isn't healthy for your animals at all. It's to loosen and help aid removal of undercoat shed and loose fur especially helpful during blowout season. We have a husky poodle mix and this also helps his blowout loosen and shed faster and without hassle. We use the set biweekly until blowout season then we use weekly. This stuff shortens blowout season from 3-4 weeks to 2 weeks max. Great smell too. Not perfume like or overpowering. But it is a light fragrance reminiscent of the old Paul Mitchell shampoo from the 90s. Very lovely.
I had initially purchased a new bottle of this for $2.50 at a Goodwill store where someone must've donated it. Reading the label, I just loved the natural ingredients and bought it. When I got home I realized I hadn't read the label in its entirety and it was pet shampoo. Contacted Earth Bath right away and they assured me that many people loved using the shampoo themselves and suggested I try it. Of course it's a little more expensive than what I paid at the Goodwill but I love the way my hair feels and smells after using it. It has healthier ingredients than most people shampoos. Well worth trying on not only your pets but yourself as well.
We tried others in this brand and I like this one. Her fur was soft after, smelled great and I think she may be shedding less.
i bought this and the shampoo for my dog because she sheds a TON! I literally sweep up an area rug amount daily. after just 1 use..... her hair is so shiny and soft! after i brushed her out and got all the loose fur off, she barely shed all day after that. I'm not sure what the suggested "frequency" is, because i'm sure too much will dry out instead of improve. But I'm going to start her out on every other week with the shampoo and conditioner and see how it goes. It does have a light clean smell so not too bad.
